Dubai - Why I love it so much

Good afternoon, my little bees! Oh my god, I'm so obsessed with everything bees at the moment. I've gone overboard in the new house, and if Simon doesn't see another Bee again, it'll probably be too soon. But I've got my way, and the new home is very me.

Anyway, today I wanted to talk about Dubai and why I love it so much. I'm off there on Tuesday, and I know many people either love or hate it. So many of you don't understand its appeal, so I will tell you from my perspective why I love Dubai so much and run to it at every opportunity I get.

First, apart from the summer, the weather is perfect in Dubai all year round, and who is not happier in the sun? I know I am. I'm literally that one person who is always cold. I remember having arguments with people at work back in the day about having the heater on. I even had my own heater, which somebody went to the lengths of cutting up as I had it on so often. So yeah, this is the most attractive thing about Dubai for me.

Second, if you are a girl, it is too easy in Dubai. You can live like a queen and not earn that much money. There is a ladies' night in a fancy place every night where you get free drinks, including beach days, etc. You feel like you are on holiday anytime you are not working, and nobody does a brunch like Dubai. FACT.

Taxis are cheap, and everything is so convenient- the whole world is starting to catch up now. Still, if I fancied a packet of malteasers, they would bring it to me, and I'd pay a couple of pounds. Everything was on your doorstep, and the people there were like-minded people who generally liked to have a good time.

It's hard to find a meaningful relationship out there because many people are only there for the short term, are having fun or running away from something. But there is something special about Dubai and spending most of my time on a boat (well, how can anything else compete with that).

The first time I went on holiday there, I was blown away by the scale of the buildings and how the service everywhere was next to none. I loved it so much that the only thing I could think of to do was be cabin crew, and I was scared of flying, so I guess this shows you how much I fell in love with Dubai. Having a blow dry every week is normal there, and my hairdresser fancied me so often this would be free; I am more glamorous and look after myself in Dubai more because I live in a bikini. Which ultimately makes me feel better. (Shallow, I know… I'm not quite so vain these days!).

Yes, I agree they don't treat the workers well; this needs to get better, but it creates so many opportunities. Yes, also, the summer is way too hot. Still, they have everything air-conditioned, including bus stops (not that anybody takes the bus). I'll take that over any winter. Yes, the marina traffic is bloody awful (but you are going to the marina, so you can about get over it), and yes, for some reason, they don't sell bloody sweet popcorn at the cinema, only caramel, but it is VIP style. It's a lot less strict than people think, and yes, it does live up to its stereotype a lot, but like any place, you can make the most of it. Many friends have made it their home, and I still debate often if I should live there or here. I'm happy now as Simon feels the same, and we have the best of both worlds, luckily, and have a home in both. (I also met him there)!. It does piss me off, though, that he calls Dubai home when he spends approximately 3 weeks a year there 😂

So if you don't like Dubai, then fair enough, but I urge you to go and decide for yourself. It has everything you can think of; they just do things bigger and better. I will never get bored of Dubai. I look forward to seeing you next week !!

P.S. already arranged a boat day! ;)
